About the Role
We are recruiting an experienced Specialist Children Practitioner to join a Family Violence service delivering integrated, high-quality therapeutic responses for children and young people aged 0-18.
This role focuses on specialist child assessment, therapeutic intervention, staff consultation and the coordination of child-focused practice across Family Violence programs.
Ideal experience includes sexual assault counselling, family violence, family preservation and reunification.
Key Duties
* Deliver specialist child-focused therapeutic interventions and group programs
* Conduct child-specific risk assessments, safety planning and case planning
* Provide secondary consultation, coaching and professional guidance to staff
* Support caregivers and children using trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate approaches
* Collaborate with internal teams and external services to ensure integrated, wrap-around support
Skills & Experience
Essential:
* Degree qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Community Development or related field
* Experience working with children and families impacted by trauma and family violence
* Demonstrated child-focused, trauma-informed practice
* Strong communication, assessment and case management skills
* Current Victorian Driver's Licence
Highly Desirable:
* Experience in sexual assault counselling
* Experience in family preservation and reunification programs
* Experience working within Family Violence services

* Ability to meet child safety, compliance and organisational requirements
