Lead with Purpose. Serve Those Who've Served.
Are you passionate about supporting veterans and their families? Do you thrive in a leadership role where compassion meets strategy? The Returned and Services League of Australia (QLD Branch) Gympie Sub-branch is seeking a dedicated and driven Veteran Services Centre Manager to lead our vital support hub in Gympie.
About the Role
As the Veteran Services Centre Manager, you will be at the heart of delivering meaningful, life-changing support to former members of the Australian Defence Force, their families and their community. This is more than a management position — this is an opportunity to shape a high-impact centre that provides advocacy, wellbeing services, and comprehensive case management tailored to veterans' needs.
You'll lead a dedicated team of paid staff and volunteers, cultivate strong partnerships with sector stakeholders, and drive strategic initiatives to expand our reach and impact across the region.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the day-to-day operations of the Centre, ensuring smooth service delivery and a welcoming, veteran-centred environment.
* Build and grow a holistic case management model connecting veterans to housing, employment, counselling, and other essential services.
* Forge strong partnerships with organisations like Open Arms, DVA, and Mates for Mates to enhance support offerings.
* Recruit, supervise, and empower a high-performing team of staff and volunteers.
* Drive strategic growth through service innovation, funding proposals, and community engagement.
What You Bring
* Proven experience in service delivery or program management, preferably in veteran support, health, or community services.
* Deep understanding of the needs and challenges facing veterans and their families.
* Strong leadership skills and experience working with volunteers.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
* High emotional intelligence and a trauma-informed, inclusive approach to service delivery.
* A strategic mindset with the ability to manage projects, people, and partnerships effectively.
Desirable but not essential: lived experience as a veteran or family member, qualifications in social work or related fields, experience in case management or advocacy, and knowledge of DVA systems.
Why Join Us?
* Be part of a respected, mission-driven organisation that makes a real difference in the lives of veterans.
* Lead a service at the forefront of community-based veteran care and innovation.
* Enjoy a supportive workplace culture grounded in respect, service, and collaboration.
* Contribute to shaping a growing Centre with strong community ties and the backing of the RSL network.
