Cook Shire Council is seeking an enthusiastic Swimming Teacher on a casual basis to join our friendly team at the Cooktown Community Swimming Pool.
About The Role
As a Casual Swimming Teacher, you'll deliver engaging, high-quality swimming and water safety lessons to children and adults of all abilities. Working alongside our Learn to Swim Coordinator and Swimming Pool Team Leader, you'll help create a safe, inclusive and fun aquatic environment that promotes lifelong water safety skills.
We Are Looking For Someone To
* Deliver structured Learn to Swim and water safety lessons
* Adapt programs to suit individual abilities and learning styles
* Create a positive, encouraging and safe learning environment
* Communicate with parents and carers about progress and programs
* Promote water safety and aquatic programs within the community
* Work collaboratively with instructors, lifeguards and pool staff
* Assist with other pool duties when qualified and required
Essential
About you
* Current AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety (or equivalent)
* Current First Aid & CPR certification
* Queensland Blue Card
* Experience in teaching swimming to children and/or adults
Highly Regarded
* Pool Lifeguard qualification
* Experience in aquatic facility operations
* Strong communication skills, patience and enthusiasm
* A genuine passion for customer service and community wellbeing
