**Selection Criteria**:
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,
- Approval to teach economics, legal studies, business studies, commerce and geography 7-12.
- Evidence of exemplary teaching practice and capacity to lead the implementation of effective differentiated teaching and learning pedagogy that caters for a range of high potential and gifted students, fosters student engagement and promotes inspirational learning experiences.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with the executive team to lead, manage and implement whole school improvement processes and initiatives that address school and faculty priorities.
- Demonstrated capacity to embrace and lead a faculty in the authentic use of a learning management system to meet the needs of students in an academically selective high school.
- Highly developed and visible interpersonal skills with a proven capacity to build positive relationships and promote engagement across the school community, helping to create and sustain a vibrant and positive school culture of integrity, diversity and excellence.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
