An exciting and rewarding opportunity is available for a suitably qualified Enrolled Nurse to join the team at Portland District Health.
As a Graduate Enrolled Nurse, you are a vital member of the multidisciplinary health care team. Your interactions with patients, relatives and colleagues are guided by the organisation's policy framework and values of trust and respect in an environment which continuously identifies opportunities for improving the quality of patient care. The enrolled graduate program is a 6-month transition program that allows the enrolled nurse to transition from student to nurse in a supportive, structured environment. The program will provide ongoing training, development and support whilst enabling the individual to experience the role and responsibilities of an enrolled nurse in both aged care environment and sub-acute environment (3 months each).
About you
* Enrolled Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) via Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
* Demonstrated ability to practice collaboratively and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Able to demonstrate good assessment, problem solving and organisational skills in a clinical setting
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Good computer literacy, including ability to access and utilise organisational IT systems and emerging technologies which are relevant to the delivering clinical care
* Understanding of opportunities and challenges associated with providing rural health care services

Portland District Health (PDH) provides an integrated health service for the community. The hospital was established in 1856 on the current site and now provides a comprehensive range of services that include:
* Hospital based Medical and Surgical services, Medical Imaging (Radiology), Pharmacy and Pathology
* A 24/7 Urgent Care Centre for emergency treatment
* Residential aged care for 30 residents at Harbourside Lodge
* An extensive range of primary and community services for the local community
PDH delivers services from a single campus, employs around 470 staff with an FTE of approximately 290, and has an active volunteer workforce. The People and Culture Unit sits within the Corporate Services Directorate, with other Units including Finance, Building Services, Food Services, Environmental Services, Executive Support, Administration and Health Information.
