As a Counsellor Advocate, you will be based at the Gippsland Centre Against Sexual Assault, providing crisis intervention and support to victims of sexual assault.
The role requires strong interpersonal communication skills and emotional intelligence to engage clients and stakeholders in effective relationships.
You will need to demonstrate knowledge of child developmental theory and harmful sexual behavior, as well as an understanding of trauma-informed practice and behavioral support.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide timely and effective crisis intervention to victims of sexual assault.
* Deliver evidence-based clinical interventions and counseling to children and young people.
* Manage client assessments, case formulations, recommendations, and intervention planning.
* Assist in engaging children and young people with the program through outreach efforts.
* Provide care coordination and advocacy for clients.
This is a full-time and ongoing position that involves working with children and young people with disabilities and their families. You may be required to travel across the service area and to Melbourne for professional development.
