About the Role
As an Assistant Supervisor at Snowtown, you'll work alongside the Operations Supervisor to provide leadership and operational support across grain storage and handling activities. Your responsibilities will include overseeing a team of employees and contractors, ensuring safety and quality standards are met, and contributing to the smooth operation of the site.
Duties include but are not limited to
* Supervise, direct, and lead employees and contractors, supporting the Operations Supervisor.
* Assist with grain storage and handling operations, including monitoring staff and system performance.
* Administer safety, food safety, and quality documentation to ensure compliance.
* Contribute to operational planning to meet safety, quality, and efficiency targets.
* Ensure the quality and quantity of grain stored across Snowtown and associated sites meet Viterra's high standards.
* Support recruitment, selection, and induction processes for site staff, promoting a high-performance culture.
* Represent Viterra positively to internal and external stakeholders, enhancing community and business relationships.
Who We're Looking For
We're looking for a hands-on, proactive leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You should be adaptable and capable of managing teams and processes to achieve operational success. Your leadership and problem-solving skills will play a key role in the smooth running of the Snowtown site.
Key Requirements
* Proven supervisory experience in an operational environment (preferred)
* Strong leadership, team-building, and motivational skills
* Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal abilities
* A positive, "can-do" attitude with the ability to embrace new challenges
* Willingness to undertake professional development and training
* Previous experience in bulk grain handling and storage (preferred)
