Curtin Medical School is seeking a values-driven Senior Lecturer (Teaching and Research) to strengthen our research and medical education portfolio and help embed research excellence throughout our MBBS program.
Your New Role
This is a pivotal academic leadership position supporting Domain 4 (Scientist and Scholar) of the Australian Medical Council (AMC) Graduate Outcomes framework - ensuring every medical student graduates with a strong foundation in research capability, critical appraisal, and curiosity-driven practice.
Working closely with the Director of Research and wider leadership team, you will:
Coordinate and deliver research-related curriculum content across the five years of the MBBS program, ensuring alignment with AMC standards.
Develop and implement a cohesive student research pathway, from undergraduate exposure to advanced research opportunities.
Co-design and coordinate initiatives such as the summer studentship program, BMedSci, MPhil, and PhD pathways.
Contribute to the growth of medical education research, helping to inform curriculum design and innovation.
Build research networks and partnerships across Curtin, with external collaborators, and through advancement and philanthropy opportunities.
Play a key role in advancing Curtin's research profile by undertaking nationally and internationally competitive and high-quality research in your discipline/field.
About You
We are seeking an AHPRA-registered practicing clinician academic (post-PhD) who brings both passion and proven capability in research, education, and collaboration.
Selection Criteria
Proven high-level teaching skills and a reflective approach to learning and teaching.
A strong record of research outputs in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals.
An established national reputation and growing international profile, supported by success in attracting research funding or fellowships.
Demonstrated emerging leadership skills with the ability to mentor emerging researchers and supervise higher degree students.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a collegial, inclusive, and culturally sensitive approach.

A clinical loading will apply for eligible AHPRA-registered clinicians.
Role Requirements
You will require work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this position to be considered. Successful applicants are subject to a National Police Clearance, and background, integrity, and reference checks to Curtin's satisfaction.
Workdays: While there is some flexibility, the ideal arrangement would see the successful candidate working on campus most Mondays and/or Thursdays.
About the Team
The Curtin Medical School (CMS) encompasses the disciplines of Medicine, Laboratory Medicine, Pharmacy, Biomedical Science, and Medical Radiation Science. CMS forms part of the Faculty of Health Sciences and is affiliated with two research institutes; the Curtin Medical Research Institute (Curtin MRI) and the enAble Institute for Health Science (enAble).
