Job Summary:
This is a Fixed Plant Fitter position responsible for ensuring the continuous operation of equipment at the Port.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain and repair fixed plant equipment to guarantee uninterrupted operation.
* Respond promptly to breakdowns, diagnose faults, and implement repairs to minimize downtime.
* Perform component replacements and mechanical adjustments to enhance plant efficiency.
* Carry out preventative maintenance to extend equipment lifespan and reduce failures.
* Collaborate with boilermakers and electricians on major repairs and infrastructure upgrades.
Requirements:
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
* Experience in routine maintenance and repairs for fixed plant equipment.
* Ability to respond quickly and effectively in breakdown situations.
* Knowledge of mechanical principles and component replacement procedures.
* Familiarity with preventative maintenance strategies to extend equipment life.
* Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
* Training or certification in boiler operation and maintenance.
* Experience working at heights or in confined spaces.
* Knowledge of electrical systems and circuitry.
