The Jobs
DAFF is recruiting for several Policy/Program/Project Officer roles at the APS5 classification across various branches and divisions. Policy/program/project officers are responsible for the day-to-day project management of conditions development and supporting project tasks, ensuring governance adherence and managing stakeholder expectations. The duties for this advertised APS 5 role may include all or some of the following:
• Contributing to policy related research that aligns with and advances the department’s strategic objectives.
• Gathering data and intelligence and conducting analysis using a range of sources and formats to meet business needs.
• Contributing to the development and review of briefings, guidelines, industry notices and other material.
• Preparing briefings on a range of trade and internationally focussed agriculture issues.
• Engaging and collaborating with key stakeholders including departmental staff and other government agencies to inform policy development and business outcomes.
• Coordinating and participating in industry meetings.
• Delivering projects and providing administrative and secretariat support to advance the department’s mission and agenda.
Note: This recruitment process will be used to fill both ongoing and non-ongoing positions across the department. The merit pool established through this selection process, which is valid for a period of 18 months from the date the vacancy was advertised in the Public Service Gazette, may be used to fill the similar vacancies should they become available.
What we are looking for
Knowledge and experience
You will possess experience in one or more of the following areas:
• Policy development
• Program/project development and implementation
• Secretariat support, and/or
• A similar role.
Experience in stakeholder relationships that achieve successful outcomes may be an advantage.
