Remedial Design Specialist
The role involves attending client and stakeholder meetings to comprehend project requirements, conducting site investigations, and diagnosing building defects. It also entails producing, reviewing, and checking designs according to industry standards and codes.
A successful candidate will have an Engineering degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and at least 5 years' experience in remedial engineering consultancy or significant experience in the construction industry.
This position is ideal for a Chartered Structural Engineer or someone nearing Chartered status with expertise in residential projects or the Strata sector.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Attend client and stakeholder meetings to understand project requirements.
* Conduct site investigations and diagnose building defects to inform remedial design strategies.
* Produce, review, and check designs in accordance with relevant industry standards and codes.
* Prepare technical reports on sites, building conditions, and defects to communicate findings effectively.
* Develop project plans, including time forecasts and resource allocation, to ensure successful project execution.
* Prepare scope of works documents, design drawings, and contract documentation to facilitate collaboration with stakeholders.
Requirements:
* Engineering degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
* At least 5 years' experience in remedial engineering consultancy or significant experience in the construction industry.
* Chartered Structural Engineer or nearing Chartered status.
