About the Role The HSE Consultant will play a key role in leading and supporting all Health, Safety, and Environmental functions across the business. Reporting directly to the CEO, this position will be responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, improving safety systems and processes, conducting audits and investigations, and supporting leaders and workers in maintaining a safe and compliant work environment. This is a hands-on role suited to a proactive HSE professional who enjoys engaging with stakeholders, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and influencing positive safety outcomes across multiple operational environments. Key Responsibilities: Promote and maintain a strong Zero Harm culture across all business activities. Provide HSE support, guidance, and leadership across operational teams. Conduct site inspections, audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations. Lead and participate in Prestarts, SWMS reviews, JSAs, toolbox talks, and safety meetings. Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, Codes of Practice, and company procedures. Manage and maintain HSE systems, documentation, and reporting requirements. Coordinate workers compensation claims and Return to Work processes. Monitor and support environmental compliance initiatives and reporting obligations. Identify safety trends, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Develop and communicate safety alerts, learnings, and improvement opportunities. Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to promote positive safety outcomes. Support internal and external audits and ensure corrective actions are closed out effectively. Provide coaching and mentoring to leaders and workers on HSE best practices. Assist with the development and implementation of HSE policies, procedures, and systems To Be Successful: Previous experience in a similar HSE Advisor, HSE Consultant, or HSE Manager position. Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and compliance requirements. Experience conducting incident investigations, audits, and risk assessments. Proven ability to influence and engage stakeholders across all levels of a business. Experience managing workers compensation and Return to Work processes. Strong communication, reporting, and organisational skills. A proactive and solutions-focused approach to safety leadership. Experience working within high-risk industries such as construction, infrastructure, manufacturing, energy, or industrial environments will be highly regarded.
