A dynamic local council in Melbourne's Western suburbs is seeking an experienced Traffic & Transport Engineer to join their team on a 4 month contract.

About the Role:
As the Traffic & Transport Engineer, you will play a key role in responding to community enquiries, providing technical advice, and ensuring effective stakeholder engagement across transport-related matters. You'll work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver practical and community-focused solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and respond to community enquiries relating to traffic, transport, and road safety
- Provide technical advice on traffic management, road design, parking, and active transport
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including residents, councillors, and transport authorities
- Prepare reports, briefings, and correspondence related to traffic and transport issues
- Support the implementation of transport strategies and local area traffic management initiatives
- Maintain a strong focus on customer service and timely resolution of community concerns
About You:
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Transport Engineering, or a related field
- Proven experience in traffic and transport engineering, ideally within local government
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to clearly explain technical matters to non-technical audiences
- Solution-focused approach with excellent problem-solving abilities
- Experience managing community enquiries is highly desirable
