**About the role**
Ventia's contract with the Department of Justice have a 12-month fixed-term opportunity for a **Training Officer** to join our team in Western Australia in their Canning Vale office. Whilst this role is based locally, training is also conducted at other venues around the Perth Metro area and other Intrastate sites, across Western Australia.
In this role you will be responsible for providing and co-ordinating all aspects of training and development activities, auditing and analysis of data into the DCMS database. You will also ensure compliance with legal, contractual requirements and assist with investigative work following any incidents or identified issues in support of the Court Security and Custodial Services contract (CS&CS).
You will implement competency-based assessment training needs for new and existing employees and identify internal and external training programs to meet contractual requirements.
**Your duties will include but are not limited to**:
- Co-ordinate and ensure delivery of the induction program for all staff
- Organise, develop or source training programs to meet the training matrix and develop the training needs
- Conduct nationally recognised training and assessment of corrective practice qualifications
- Investigation and correction of discrepancies in case management database as required
- Production of daily and weekly compliance and performance reports
- Ensuring all contractually required competencies and resources are maintained and in-date - i.e. training, vehicles etc with appropriate manager
- Conduct ongoing contractually required refresher training across the state
- Identification and remediation of incorrect data capture
**Skills and experience**:
- Hold up-to-date Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- Hold Cert III in Correctional Practice
- Hold relevant qualifications in compliance and auditing or demonstrate a proven track record of success within a previous compliance and auditing background
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Intermediate - Advanced computer skills
- Flexible and resilient with an ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment
- Recent and relevant experience related to competency based training and National Training Packages (preferred but not essential)
- Demonstrated understanding of the importance of contractual compliance
- Ability to analyse and present data
**Other special conditions**
The incumbent to this position must have Australian Work Rights and have the ability to obtain and maintain a National Police Check, Working with Children Check and be prepared to undergo a pre-employment medical including a drug & alcohol test in order to be eligible for this position
