Overview
Senior Occupational Therapist role at SAL Consulting Pty Ltd in Darwin, NT. The position is suitable for experienced practitioners who can work independently and help expand the Allied Health team in Darwin. The successful candidate will deliver occupational therapy services in the NT and provide supervision and support to the occupational therapy team in the NT.
Responsibilities
- Provide a range of assessments and reports, e.g. Sensory Profile, Functional Assessments, Cognitive Functional Assessments, Multi-disciplinary Assessments (FASD, Motor Skills Assessment, Housing and Support Needs Assessments).
- Identify Occupational Therapy goals with the person and/or their family or carers.
- Develop Occupational Therapy intervention plans.
- Provide Occupational Therapy support in settings including the home, the community, in schools, the clinic or via telehealth (where appropriate).
- Develop individual resources for the person and identify useful strategies.
- Provide training for parents, carers and/or support workers.
- Attend Care Team Meetings and provide Occupational Therapy input.
- Supervision and support of other Occupational Therapists within the SAL Consulting team.
Essential and Desirable Criteria
- Essential: A degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent and registration with AHPRA.
- Desirable: Experience with people with intellectual disabilities and/or trauma with complex needs; experience in comprehensive assessments of functional needs; sensory assessment and profiling; holistic lifestyle assessment and goal setting; experience in administration and interpretation of various assessment tools; experience in supervision and mentoring of staff.
Requirements
- Current Driver’s Licence;
- Current Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening, or ability to attain these checks.
