The Education Officer plays a pivotal role in crafting, implementing and overseeing education and vocational training programs tailored to meet the diverse needs of the inmate population within the correctional facility.
Key Responsibilities
1. Craft comprehensive education and training plans that cater to inmates' varying requirements, focusing on providing access to vocational and educational opportunities appropriate for their skills sets.
2. Mentor external personnel involved in the centre's education program, ensuring seamless coordination.
3. Negotiate with local trainers and community groups to offer optimal educational services aligned with inmates' aspirations.
4. Evaluate inmates' educational standards, provide expert guidance, and direct them towards suitable options both within the centre and beyond its walls.
5. Collaborate with management teams in devising sentence management strategies, case planning approaches, as well as assessments for potential community-based alternatives.
