Job Title: Advanced Practitioner in Orthogeriatric Care
Canterbury Hospital seeks a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Specialist to provide senior nursing clinical leadership in the development of specialist clinical practice and service delivery within a nursing unit, team or service.
The role involves employing advanced clinical skills and exercising extended autonomy of decision-making working closely with managers and other senior clinicians to ensure high-quality patient care.
The hospital's Orthogeriatric Rehabilitation Program (ORP) aims to bridge the gap between acute fracture care and long-term management of osteoporosis. The successful candidate will be responsible for systematically identifying, assessing, and treating patients aged over 50 years who present with fragility fractures to reduce the risk of subsequent fractures.
The ORP service also supports general rheumatology services by providing patient education and self-management support, particularly for those requiring advanced rheumatological therapies including biologics.
* Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse with relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years' experience working in the clinical area of their specified post-graduate qualification, or equivalent experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation.
* Demonstrated ability to prioritise and problem solve to manage complex clinical care needs through the development and use of clinical management plans.
* Highly developed written and verbal communication skills with advanced interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
