**How will I help?**
The Technical Support Specialist will be responsible for delivering effective solutions and business processes to provide BAU and project support for customers' requirements and objectives.
In addition to this, you will be required to assist with system enhancements on time that fully meet customer requirements and ensure system enhancement analysis, development and process is delivered as per Business requirements.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Anticipating issues and problems that may impact the Westpac Group's performance.
- Constructively challenging the status quo to develop solutions and resolve issues.
- In some instances, assisting in the delivery of quality sustainable development solutions for projects and/or enhancements, in line with the broader business and technology strategies.
- Conducting resolution of incidents and problems to ensure systems operate as required.
- Mentoring and supporting an analyst team and/or analyst team member(s) in accordance with Westpac's people principles and processes.
- Participating in ongoing team training to maintain, refresh, and establish new support skill sets.

**What do I need?**
To be successful in this role, you will need excellent and verbal communication skills, a customer focused mindset and be self-driven. In addition to this, your skills may include:
- Experience in a technology development or Technology support role (s) such as Technology Production Support, or in Software Development.
- Expert knowledge of UNIX commands & shell scripting and/or constructing Splunk queries.
- Experience in Monitoring & Health-Check of UNIX based environments including Oracle database/IBM MQ Series.
- Support of Prod/non-Prod environments on High Availability and Disaster Recovery.
- Experience in Incident, Problem and Change Management.
- Experience managing and maintaining operational and support documentation.
- Availability for on-call requirement once in every four weeks.
