Senior Network Planning Engineer
This role involves leading short to long-term power system planning and development of the electricity network to deliver safe, reliable, affordable energy and sustainable performance for all customers.
* Main Responsibilities:
* Perform power system assessment, network development options and scope preparation for major customer connection projects.
* Strategic area planning using probabilistic planning, risk and cost-benefit economic evaluation assessments and report writing and presentations.
* Perform power system feasibility study assessments.
* Prepare Regulatory Investment Tests (RIT-D and RIT-T) and contribute to the Distribution Annual Planning Report and Transmission Connection Planning Report preparation.
* Technical assessment of large embedded generation connection projects.
* Provide technical leadership and support to network planning team members.
Requirements:
* Experience in the electrical industry with short to long-term system planning experience.
* Proficiency in using electricity network power system software such as PSS/E and/or PSCAD.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to liaise and influence both internal and external stakeholders.
* Strong knowledge of the regulatory framework, its obligations and instruments (such as NER, EDCoP, Australian Standards).

* Tertiary qualifications and/or higher in Electrical Engineering (power system discipline is desirable).
