This full-time permanent role is based in the Chatswood, Sydney office and reports directly to the PR Director, Asia Pacific. In this dynamic position, you'll manage the day-to-day operations of the Princess Cruises press office across Australia and New Zealand - acting as the go-to for media enquiries, coordinating press trips and onboard events, and supporting both global and local PR campaigns that amplify the Princess brand. You'll work closely with PR agencies, Sales and Marketing teams, and global stakeholders to deliver standout media moments, meaningful coverage, and strategic alignment across the region. Key Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
* Be the main point of contact for media enquiries, ensuring timely and professional responses
* Build and nurture relationships with Tier 1 media, freelancers, and trade journalists
* Draft, edit and distribute press releases, coverage reports, and other media materials
* Coordinate and host media events and shipboard famils with precision and creativity
* Support local and internal communications across marketing, sales, and the global PR network
* Manage media assets including press packs, image libraries, B-roll, and media lists
* Work with external agencies to align messaging across media, marketing, and partnerships
* Travel up to 25% of the time (domestically and up to twice annually internationally)
* Proactively contribute creative ideas that showcase the excitement of the Princess brand
About You
You're a confident and creative PR professional with experience either in-house or within an agency, ideally in travel, tourism, lifestyle, or consumer brands. You have a sharp eye, a passion for storytelling, and thrive in fast-paced, high-energy environments. You're calm under pressure, know how to pitch and shape a compelling story, and enjoy working cross-functionally with teams to bring campaigns to life using initiative and a proactive approach. You're someone who's proactive, positive, solutions-focused - and not afraid to roll up your sleeves to get things done. You understand that cruise is a 24/7 operation and are comfortable being agile and responsive. You're also excited about growth, open to mentorship, and ready to take the lead when needed. A collaborative spirit and a desire to contribute ideas, learn, and grow will set you apart from your competitors!
To Be Successful, You Will Have:
* 3-5 years' experience in public relations or communications (agency or in-house)
* Strong writing and verbal communication skills (AP style knowledge desirable)
* Proven ability to identify news angles and craft impactful stories
* Comfortable managing media with professionalism and approachability
* Strong project and event coordination skills with excellent time management
* Proficiency in tools like iSentia, Agility, and basic image editing software
* A degree in Communications, PR, Journalism or a related field
* Willingness to travel for media events (including weekends and out-of-hours as required)
