The South West Aboriginal Medical Service (SWAMS) is a non-Government Health Service based in Bunbury which provides a variety of health services to Aboriginal people in the South West of Western Australia. SWAMS delivers a wide range of community programs and has a strong growth strategy through partnership opportunities and future community development.
An RN at SWAMS is responsible for implementing best practice care and coordinating multidisciplinary care planning, internal and external referral, including referral for specialist care and allied health. This is done through coordination of the patient journey both in the clinic and the community. Our employees are provided with ongoing support and a continuous learning approach to further development.
About you:
You will be a passionate Registered Nurse who is looking to work within a NFP that directly supports the local Aboriginal families and community. You will also have the following:
* Registered Nurse, with at least 3 years post-graduation experience in nursing.
* Current registration with AHPRA
* Demonstrated ability to plan, develop, implement and evaluate nursing care programs in a primary health setting
* Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with Aboriginal people
* A demonstrated understanding of the unique issues effecting and impacting upon the health of Aboriginal people
* Demonstrated organisational and time management skills along with an ability to adapt to changing needs
It would also be beneficial but not essential to have the following experience:
•Experience in Community or Aboriginal Health
•Knowledge and expertise in the use of Communicare or similar clinical database system.
