The Role
The APS 6 Zone Operations and Coordination (ZOC) Manager role requires an autonomous leader who has a can-do attitude; you will be managing a small team of ZOC Officers to manage workflows, assign resources, and monitor performance. At the same time, you will work on projects that progress SEG’s strategic goals.
The ZOC Manager will lead and manage any of the following areas that the ZOC is responsible for:
- Zone Requests for Contribution and Tasking
- Workforce management
- Learning and development
You will ensure we value add and provide significant contributions to all South East Zone stakeholders. You will possess decision-making skills that demonstrate strategic leadership, initiative, and sound judgement. You will set the pace for you and your team to meet time critical deadlines on complex procedural, operational, administrative, and business outcomes.
About our Team
The South East Zone (SEZ) is a branch of the Service Delivery Division within the Defence Security and Estate Group (SEG). SEZ provides essential, on-the-ground services and support to Defence personnel at locations across the Riverina, Victoria and Tasmania. The Zone Operations and Coordination (ZOC) team provide administrative support, policy guidance, and centralised business co-ordination to the various teams across the South East Zone.
Some of the functions performed by the ZOC include; workforce planning, learning and development, finance, information management, ministerial and media enquiries. You will be part of a proactive and dynamic team that is trusted, proven and regarded as contributing to the positive service delivery culture.

Eligibility
Security Clearance:
Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at “Baseline Vetting” level.
