Overview
Holden Accountants, we are a small Chartered Accounting and advisory practice located in Osborne Park. We have clients across a wide range of industries and offer a range of services to our clients including accounting, tax return preparation, bookkeeping, SMSF and business/tax advisory.
Job tasks and responsibilities
The successful applicant will demonstrate a high level of integrity, honesty & ethics; dedication to being client orientated with a desire to exceed client expectations and provide exceptional service; the capacity to deliver services in a professional manner whilst incorporating personality, flair and friendliness; a keen eye for detail and accuracy;
Work hours are 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday, we close down between Christmas and New Year. Days are allocated as annual leave where applicable. We are currently seeking a candidate with the ability to commit to full-time hours.
The role will encompass a mixture of administration, client services and Reception relief. The successful candidate will provide support to our director, business manager and a continuously growing team of accountants and bookkeepers.
Examples of the types of activities you will be performing are:
Client Services
- Follow up client queries on behalf of the accountant team
- Contact the ATO to arrange payment plans, interest & fee remissions, and lodgement extensions
- Complete ASIC works such as change of directorship or shareholdings
- Complete Company and Trust Set Ups
- Follow up client's signature & return of tax related documents
- ATO Lodgement Reconciliations
- Complete Client On-boarding activities
1. Know how to do the following for relief of Reception when they have either a specified day off or Annual Leave
- Answer phone and take messages or redirect as appropriate
- Greeting guests and clients who visit the office in a friendly and professional manner
- Maintain office presentation and cleanliness
- Scanning and filing documents (both physically & electronically)
- Collating Financial Statements and Tax Returns for Client Meetings
- Collating Trust Deeds & Company Documents
- Collect mail, scan, file & redirect as appropriate
- Compile Client Profiles and Maintain Structure Charts
- Process ASIC Renewal Invoices, Prepare Client Letters and Follow-Up
Skills and experience
About You
It would be advantageous but not essential if you have prior experience in a tax accounting or book-keeping firm and are already familiar with the language and terminology that is used.
You should be highly organized and be able to prioritise tasks.
You must be able to communicate (verbally and written) professionally and speak fluent English.
A high level of attention to detail is required for all tasks.
Proficient in MS Office skills (Word, Outlook Excel, etc).
A positive outlook and general interest in helping people.
An ability to show resilience and a “can-do attitude” in a busy and high-paced environment is a must!
