About The RoleFixed Term Full Time until 13th of March 2026The Lead Enterprise Architect proactively and holistically leads Enterprise Architecture activities across technology capability domains. They are responsible for leveraging technology to enable DTP’s service and policy delivery priorities, and for leading and facilitating teams to identify and develop DTP’s IT architecture.To access the Position Description, please click here.We are seeking a highly skilled professional with expertise in strategic planning, systems thinking, problem-solving, and digital literacy to drive business outcomes and innovation. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership in communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration, with the ability to adapt to change and influence key decision-makers effectively.Position Outcomes / AccountabilitiesIdentify and engage stakeholders to facilitate strategic planning, innovation, and solution identification to enable business priorities and activities.Maintain and analyse information about the IT environment (including business, applications, platforms, and technology components) to identify trends and insights into DTP’s use of IT.Create deliverables (including strategies, roadmaps, capability models, frameworks, processes, standards, and guidelines) that guide decisions to achieve targeted business outcomes.Develop investment plans to achieve target architectures and monitor architecture delivery through definition of metrics and participation in IT governance.Define and drive changes to IT operating models to enable effective delivery and operation of the IT architecture.Drive digital innovation by leveraging innovative new technologies and approaches to renovate, extend, and transform the IT architecture.Provide expert advice to executive groups on the use of technology to support business priorities.Advocate and communicate strategic priorities, frameworks, models, etc., to business and technical staff at all levels to improve alignment of activities to strategic outcomes.Facilitate and contribute to the proceedings of IT governance forums within DTP.Identify and maintain awareness of industry and whole-of-Victorian-government (WoVG) technology trends, including representing DTP in appropriate industry or WoVG forums.In line with Section 31A of the Public Administration Act 2004 (Vic), other duties may be assigned consistent with employment classification, skills, and capabilities.Qualifications And ExperienceMandatoryAppropriate tertiary qualification in IT Systems or related area.DesirableCertification in an industry-recognised architecture framework (e.g., TOGAF).Experience using Enterprise Architecture tools like Orbus Infinity, Lean IX, or Sparx EA.Role Specific RequirementsExtensive experience in developing enterprise-wide architecture and processes ensuring strategic application of change is embedded in organizational management.Demonstrated experience using systems thinking to design adaptive and scalable enterprise architectures supporting long-term business agility and innovation.Experience in setting strategies, policies, standards, and practices to ensure compliance between business strategies, technology strategies, and enterprise transformation activities.Proven ability to lead and deliver strategy creation/review to meet evolving business needs.Experience in identifying and assessing emerging technologies and evaluating their impacts, threats, and opportunities.Ability to collaborate and influence at all organizational levels, driving stakeholder consensus and alignment.Exceptional communication skills to present complex ideas clearly to technical, non-technical, and executive audiences.Proven ability to build strategic relationships with senior stakeholders and leverage networks to deliver expert advice.What we offerMeaningful work making Victorian communities more accessible and livableProfessional growth and development opportunities across the department and wider Victorian Public ServicesA hybrid working model focused on collaboration and teamworkFlexible work arrangements to promote work-life balanceOpportunities to work across multiple urban and suburban hubsA safe and inclusive cultureCulture ValueWe are an equal opportunity employer, embracing diverse applicants such as veterans, Indigenous peoples, LGBTQIA community members, individuals with disabilities, and those from varied cultural backgrounds.
