We are seeking an experienced and proactive Finance Manager to join our small but busy team and take ownership of the Company's financial operations. This is a hands‑on role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and wants to make a meaningful impact on business performance and strategic growth.
About the Role
Reporting to senior management, the Finance Manager will be responsible for ensuring the financial health of the organisation through accurate reporting, effective budgeting, cash flow management, and strong financial controls. This role is central to supporting project delivery, driving financial efficiency, and providing valuable insights that guide business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, reports, and analysis, including KPIs and variance reporting.
* Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with management and project teams.
* Oversee cash flow management, accounts payable/receivable, and working capital optimisation.
* Monitor project financial performance, including cost control, profitability, and budget adherence.
* Implement and maintain strong internal controls, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and construction industry regulations.
* Oversee tax compliance, including corporate tax, GST, payroll tax, and associated filings.
* Manage and improve financial systems, ensuring data integrity and workflow efficiency.
* Maintain banking relationships, manage credit facilities, and oversee loan compliance.
* Assist with financial risk management and ensure appropriate insurance coverage is in place.
* Provide financial advice to support strategic decisions, investments, and capital planning.
* Oversee payroll and employee benefits administration, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
* Coordinate external audits and implement recommendations for process improvement.
* Lead and mentor finance team members to ensure high performance and accuracy.
* Develop and report financial KPIs and performance metrics for senior leadership.
* Contribute to long‑term financial planning and business strategy.
About You
* A qualified finance professional with experience in construction or project‑based industries preferred but not necessary.
* Skilled in financial reporting, budgeting, and cash flow management.
* Experienced with construction financial systems and cost‑control processes.
* Proactive, detail‑oriented, and capable of working both strategically and hands‑on.
* A strong communicator who can collaborate across teams and support senior decision‑making.
* Able to manage competing deadlines and work efficiently in a small‑team environment.
