General Medicine Trainee Opportunity
Bunbury Hospital has been accredited by the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) for 2 full-time equivalents (FTEs) of Senior registrar/Advanced Trainee in General Medicine.
This role provides advanced trainees with a 12-month opportunity to work in a regional setting while enjoying professional and lifestyle benefits of Bunbury Hospital and the South West region of Western Australia.
The General Medical department manages 64 beds across two wards, as well as additional outlying patients. As an advanced trainee, you will provide care and support to patients with a wide range of conditions managed by a general physician cohort.
You will work alongside consultant physicians and interface with other specialties like emergency, intensive care, cardiology, renal, respiratory, and geriatrics.
The role includes inpatient and outpatient management, supervision, teaching of doctors in training, and participation in safety and quality activities.
Advanced trainees typically work day shifts, including weekend rotations, and may negotiate after-hours call roster participation with consultant backup.
Key Responsibilities:
