POSITION OBJECTIVES
The role is to work closely with the Sales Manager to support sales activities within the Northern Territory, focusing on building strong customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and promoting the Company’s HVAC products.
The position contributes to achieving sales targets, maintaining market presence, and delivering a high level of customer service and support. The role involves a combination of day-to-day sales activities and external client engagement to drive business growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales and Business Development
- Work closely with the National Commercial Manager to support the sale of Company products within the Territory and designated regions to achieve budgeted sales and margins.
- Identify sales prospects, respond to enquiries, and assist through the negotiation process to secure orders, ensuring smooth delivery to meet customer and Company requirements.
- Maintain regular contact and build strong relationships with key accounts while actively identifying new business opportunities.
- Monitor pricing and discount structures and provide feedback to the National Commercial Manager to support sales and margin objectives.
- Prepare quotations and assist with the preparation of contracts and customer agreements.
- Proactively seek new customers and promote the Company’s products.
- Provide regular updates to management on sales activities, opportunities, and market conditions.
Customer Service
- Gather relevant information regarding client requirements and projects to ensure accurate and timely quotations.
- Liaise with internal teams to ensure delivery timelines are met and customer expectations are managed effectively.
Marketing
- Monitor competitor products, pricing, and market activity, and provide feedback to management.
- Support marketing initiatives, including product promotions, client meetings, and presentations.
- Contribute feedback on product improvements and new opportunities in the market.
Quality Control
- Foster the Company’s approach to always support our customers with any difficulty which may arise with our products.
- Refer problems concerning quality to Quality Control staff and liaise with them insofar as customer satisfaction is concerned.
- Make sales staff available to assist Quality Control staff necessary to attend to customer complaints.
Credit Control
- Liaise closely with appropriate accounting staff concerning collections and problem debtors to determine
appropriate action to be taken as well as keeping the National Commerical Manager informed.
General
- Additional duties and responsibilities may be required as the branch grows, and the group enters new markets
- Ensure that housekeeping in the branch is always maintained at a high standard.
Corporate Responsibilities
- Cooperate with FANTECH PTY LTD in relation to any actions taken to comply with the relevant Occupational Health and Safety regulations for the state and/or country and ensure that actions taken by the employee do not interfere with or place at risk the health, safety or wellbeing of the employee or any person in the workplace.
- Ensure compliance with all Privacy Legislation and treat all information of a personal and sensitive nature concerning the business of FANTECH PTY LTD in a professional and confidential manner.
- Ensure that all FANTECH PTY LTD policies, procedures, systems and work practices are implemented and adhered to, in particular, in human resource management (Equal Opportunity including harassment and bullying), risk management, financial management and customer service.
- Act in a professional manner at all times while performing duties for and/or representing FANTECH PTY LTD in accordance with the Business Management System (BMS), Employee Manual and accompanying policies.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Education/Qualifications
- Year 12 Qualification, or equivalent
- A tertiary qualification in other business discipline is desirable.
Experience and Skills
- An experienced and highly motivated sales professional with experience with engineering products.
- Supervisory experience of a sales team/region is desirable.
- Strong client relationship management and business development skills
- Ability to identify opportunities and convert leads into sales
- A tertiary qualification in an engineering or related discipline or a trade background with equivalent experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, together with an ability to interact effectively with people at all levels of the organisation and with customers, and the ability to motivate a sales team.
Salary: $102,500 AUD per year
