QHSE Director Australia
Locations: Melbourne / Sydney / Brisbane
Reporting to the Managing Director Australia, the QHSE Director is a strategic leadership role responsible for fostering a high-performance culture in Quality, Safety, Health, and Environment (QHSE) Management systems across the country. The role ensures compliance with relevant standards and company requirements.
This individual will oversee QHSE, ensuring that quality and safety systems (including IT tools) adhere to Global Quality standards (GRD/SOP), regulatory, and accreditation requirements across all facilities.
Main responsibilities:
1. Document control:
* Manage QHSE documentation (policies, procedures, manuals, forms, alerts, notices, safety topics), ensuring applicability across business lines or regions, reviewing complex documents, issuing, archiving, and maintaining registers.
* Lead and complete independent projects outlined in the QHSE Business plan, managing project teams.
* Oversee accreditation processes or specific focus areas (e.g., Safety, QHSE Training) nationally, including acting as the regulatory contact, designing and delivering training programs, and managing safety system areas.
* Identify opportunities for continual improvement of the QHSE System.
1. QHSE Audits:
* Determine audit needs to maintain accreditation and reduce risks.
* Conduct internal audits across all business lines, raising NCRs as needed.
* Manage all aspects of audits (regulatory, insurance, safety, client).
* Prepare regulatory submissions for accreditation extensions or renewals.
2. Review QHSE Performance:
* Analyze, report, and present QHSE data using tools like QESIS, LabWare, Tableau, PowerBI.
* Establish relationships with Partners, Key Opinion Leaders, and customers.
3. Assessments, Tenders, Questionnaires:
* Contribute QHSE inputs to assessments, tenders, and questionnaires.
* Manage client service, sales, and marketing queries related to QHSE.
4. Safety and Legal Management:
* Act as return-to-work coordinator and manage workcover claims with HR.
* Monitor claims, premiums, and analyze insurance reports.
* Review legislative changes and update notifications and documents accordingly.
* Ensure follow-up and implementation of safety alerts and notices across sites.
Your Profile
* Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, chemistry, food science/technology, or quality assurance, with at least 10 years of broad technical experience, including 5 years in Quality System Management within ISO 17025 or equivalent, and experience with accreditation processes.
* Proven ability to engage and consult across all staff levels in QHSE management.
