About This Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Disability Support Worker to join our team.
* This role involves working with clients in the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) framework, assisting them to achieve their goals and increase their independence and participation within the community.
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting clients with social outings and appointments, requiring a valid driver's license and own vehicle.
* Developing and implementing engaging activities to keep clients' days full and meaningful.
* Providing personal care services such as showering, grooming, and pad changes.
* Maintaining a clean and safe living environment through domestic duties like cleaning and laundry.
* Assisting with meal planning, preparation, and eating to promote healthy dietary habits.
* Managing challenging behaviors and encouraging positive interactions.
* Administering medication and providing support for clients with higher medical needs, including diabetes management.
* Utilizing manual handling techniques with various hoists to ensure client safety.
* Coordinating appointments and communicating with healthcare professionals as needed.
Requirements and Qualifications
* Completed NDIS Worker Screening Check and 4-module training.
* Held a current Manual Handling Certificate within the past two years.
* In possession of Full First-Aid and yearly CPR Training Certificates.
* Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
* Able to obtain a Working with Children Check issued in Western Australia.
* Experience working with individuals with challenging behaviors.
