Our client is a recognised pioneer in the resource recovery sector with over 30 years experience. Due to an internal promotion we are looking for their new Environment Manager of their Soil Reuse and Recycling Division.
The new Environment Manager will provide senior leadership to the development and direction of environmental and sustainability strategy and activities for the soil reuse and recycling Pillar. The role will also collaborate with cross divisional peers and senior leadership.
To engage with and maintain strong collaborative relationships with government and regulatory authorities and other stakeholders, as required.
Assist with the development and implementation of Soil Reuse and Recycling Environmental strategy.
**Your new role**
- Effectively engage and maintain strong collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders including government and regulatory authorities
- Assist in driving and influencing a safety first culture
- Ensuring systems are designed appropriately to deliver services in line with the guidelines set out by the EPA in each state
- Ensure environmental matters are promptly reported and addressed accordingly
- Effective risk management and auditing, i.e.
- Material Assessment Forms are operating appropriately and to a quality standard;
- Develop and deliver environmental training and competency assessments in order to build internal capability and knowledge; and
- Assisting with the development, training & implementation of operational plans
- Ensure EPA Licence conditions and administration are met for each site
- Represent Soil Reuse and Recycling on various industry associations and working groups
- Implementing and driving Company's Values (Sustainable, Committed, Creative and Agile) into day-to-day practice.
**What you'll need to succeed**
- Tertiary and/or Bachelor of Engineering within Environmental, Science or Sustainability related discipline is a prerequisite
- Minimum of 7-10 years' experience in an Environmental Management position, preferably within the Recycling or Manufacturing Industries.
- Experience implementing Environmental Management Systems ISO 14001
- Ability to travel within Australia as per business requirements, approximately once a month
- Ability to interpret licence conditions, waste analytical results and provide advice to site staff and site management accordingly
- Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
- Good organisational and planning skills
- Strategic and outcome focused
- Self-motivated, and have the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively
