Job Title: Fleet Mechanic
The City of Greater Geelong is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fleet Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our fleet operations, you will be responsible for servicing, repairing, and maintaining the Council's assets.
Key Responsibilities:
* Servicing, repairing, and maintaining the Council's fleet of vehicles, heavy plant, and equipment in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations or established procedures.
* Providing professional and efficient roadside breakdown services for the Council's fleet of vehicles, heavy plant, and equipment.
* Ensuring all workshop plant, equipment, and tools are operated, maintained, stored, and secured in a safe manner and in accordance with all relevant legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures.
* Complying with all of the Council's policies and procedures, including appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
* Providing information and training to employees and apprentices, as required, to enable them to carry out required maintenance activities on vehicles, plant, and equipment.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will have a Certificate III trade qualification as an Automotive Technician, Diesel Fitter, or Mobile Plant Mechanic. You will also have:
* A current unrestricted car, medium rigid, heavy rigid, or heavy combination driver's license.
* The ability to perform manual work, including the lifting of weights, in accordance with the relevant Occupational Health and Safety guidelines.
* Extensive experience in the servicing, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of vehicles, plant, and equipment.
