Insurance Litigation Career Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled litigation lawyer to join our busy Insurance practice in Melbourne.
The role will focus on financial lines matters, including professional indemnity coverage and defence work across all professions within the financial services, allied health and construction sectors.
* This exciting opportunity includes working on a number of interesting litigated matters, including coverage disputes, directors defence claims, inquiries work acting in regulatory investigations, and includes working on coverage instructions for a range of local insurers and London syndicates.
* Responsibility for day-to-day management of multiple proceedings in the Federal Court, Supreme Court and tribunal work.
As a member of our vibrant Melbourne Insurance team, you will work closely with 4 highly regarded Partners who pride themselves on promoting an inclusive culture.
Our team consists of experienced Special Counsel and Senior Associates, as well as dedicated Associates, Paralegals and Legal Secretaries, who provide first-class support.
Requirements
* 4+ years' of relevant insurance litigation experience with a background in defending professional services claims brought against AFSL, financial advisors, accountants & insolvency practitioners.
* Experience acting in Federal Court, State Court and AFCA disputes is preferred.
* Coverage experience acting for insurers and advising on coverage matters specific to the financial / professional services sector would be highly advantageous but not essential.
* A methodical and organised approach to file management.
* A natural leader who enjoys providing mentorship to more junior staff.
* Ability to manage own time, excellent organisation skills and attention to detail.
* High level of professionalism and integrity; displaying the highest standard of professional ethics.
