But did you know we have 23 divisions, 135 sites nationally, employ nearly 3000 people and operate a fleet of over 2300
We do more than collect the bin from your street we also; convert waste into clean energy, divert food waste from landfill and convert to compost, manufacture customised waste management equipment, asbestos removal, refine and recycle oil, manage and maintain our fleet in house and have our own bespoke technology systems.
Our teams include Drivers/Operators, Heavy Vehicle Mechanics, Customer Service, Operations, Finance, IT/Digital, Environment, Engineering, Industrial Chemists, Safety, Administration and much more. .

ABOUT THIS ROLE
As a JJ's HR Truck Driver, you will operate a waste collection vehicle in the Mackay area.
On a day-to-day basis, this role will require you to service multiple customer sites. You will be working with a safe, modern and reliable fleet, serviced and maintained in our on-site workshops.
We are an essential services industry, offering stability to employees and reliability to our customers.
You will enjoy family friendly hours – no more long haul, DIDO or FIFO, as well as great pay rates - particularly for those interested in overtime or additional work on weekends Early starts (between 4-6am) and early finishes.
What's the Driver Development Program?
The Driver Development Program covers a range of skills, knowledge and behaviours about the logistics & waste management sector. It's not just about collecting waste
You will develop:
Full training and ongoing support for you to successfully operate a waste collection vehicle
Defensive driving
A key understanding of safe heavy vehicle operations
High standards of safety compliance and customer service
About you:
Australian Car, MR or HR licence
Show interest and enthusiasm in a long-term career as a JJ's Driver/Operator
Be reliable ; we are an essential service industry
Commit to JJ's Waste values
Be dedicated to achieving high standards of safety compliance
Be subject to a pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol testing
Able to provide your last 5 years' traffic history at interview stage
Well-developed people and relationship skills
Already have a Licence? We offer:
Licencing upgrades, from learning Heavy Rigid to the eventual upskill to Multi Combination licencing
Licencing upgrades of prescribed waste & dangerous goods
As a Driver Development employee, you will start working with us as a Runner / Labourer – supporting experienced drivers, learning the routes and about the role.
After approx. 10-12 weeks we will support you in getting your HR Licence – then your training will also include working with a Driver Trainer to learn how to effectively operate our vehicles.
