Overview
A prominent Federal Government department is seeking an experienced Senior Project Officer to assist in the delivery of critical Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) capability initiatives. The role is based in Canberra, ACT, with onsite working arrangements. The contract is 12 months with 2 × 12-month extensions.
Responsibilities
* Assisting with project support tasks including the administration and coordination of project documentation.
* Contributing to project planning and scheduling, breaking down large projects into discrete work packages from concept to delivery.
* Managing risks and issues, and communicating project progress to diverse customers and stakeholders.
* Applying knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, strategies and team plans to project support work.
* Building and sustaining productive working relationships across internal and external capability development teams.
Qualifications
* Providing portfolio, programme and project support including standards, procedures, methods, tools and techniques; evaluating performance and recommending improvements.
* Stakeholder relationship management: resolving issues, implementing engagement/communication plans, gathering feedback, and enhancing stakeholder relationships.
* Business administration: coordinating meetings, liaising across functions, setting up tooling/processes for workplace productivity, and contributing to organisational policies and documentation.
* Desirable: demonstrated experience delivering services to Defence capability projects.
