Job Summary
The Staff Specialist will provide high quality diagnostic and consultative specialty services in Drug Health Services, and participate in teaching, research, quality improvement, and administrative activities within the Department and hospital as required. The role encourages an academic environment that supports education, research, and professional development.
Responsibilities
* Provide diagnostic and consultative services in Drug Health Services.
* Participate in teaching, research, and quality improvement initiatives.
* Engage in administrative activities within the Department and hospital as required.
* Support an academic environment promoting education, research, and professional development.
Qualifications
* Medical practitioner currently registered or eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) with recognised qualifications in Addiction Medicine and/or equivalent specialist recognition as provided for in the NSW Staff Specialists (State) Award.
* Positions available from May 2026; candidates expected to be awarded Fellowship within two months of application may be considered.
* Salary and conditions are in accordance with the NSW Staff Specialist (State) Award.

* Evidence of current immunity status complying with NSW Health Occupational Assessment, Screening & Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy.
* Abide by the Code of Conduct.
