About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Wine Professional to serve as a key member of our team at The Tasman Hotel.
As a seasoned Sommelier, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional wine experiences to our guests. This includes serving wine and champagne, offering expert advice on origin, vintage, and styles, managing the wine list and inventory systems, and suggesting wine pairings for our menu items.
Main Responsibilities:
* Serving wine and champagne with precision and attention to detail
* Providing expert knowledge on wine origin, vintage, and styles to enhance the guest experience
* Managing the wine list and MICROS system to optimize wine sales and revenue
* Suggesting wine pairings for menu items to complement our culinary offerings
* Attending wine tastings to stay up-to-date on new releases and trends
* BUILDING strong relationships with wine vendors to source high-quality products
* Requesting new products to stay ahead of the competition
* CREATING enticing wine lists and promotions to drive sales and revenue
* Maintaining a well-organized and climate-controlled wine cellar
* Training staff on wine knowledge and service standards
* Ensuring compliance with alcohol service laws and regulations
* Maintaining accurate inventory records to minimize waste and optimize stock levels
About You
To succeed in this role, you will have a proven track record as a Sommelier in similar restaurants or hotels. You will also possess a genuine passion for food and beverage products, with a deep understanding of wine varieties and styles. Additionally, you will need to be able to gauge customers' preferences and deliver personalized wine recommendations. Your strong work ethic and exceptional customer service skills will enable you to provide an unforgettable experience for our guests.
Requirements
