Primary objective
Provide event management assistance to deliver the departments key internal and external events including October
Business Month and various department managed events and meetings as required.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Plan, deliver and evaluate events in-line with the department's events policy and strategy.
1. Liaise with event partners, sponsors, stakeholders and suppliers.
2. Onsite event support including taking registrations, speaker liaison, supplier liaison, set-up/pack-up and greeting
participants.
1. Arrange travel and accommodation for staff and keynote speakers.
2. Negotiate with suppliers, arrange venue bookings, audio-visual equipment and catering as required for individual
events.
6. Establish and maintain productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Previous practical experience in event management including the use of online systems (such as EventsAir) and
arranging travel and accommodation to interstate, intrastate and remote locations.
2. Well-developed written and oral communication skills including the ability to prepare correspondence for a range of
external audiences, including web content, emails, letters, ministerial correspondence, and speech notes.
1. Demonstrated knowledge of financial processes including preparing and tracking budgets.
2. Demonstrated high-level of self-motivation, initiative, organisation skills and ability to manage multiple projects at one
time, with a strong client focus.
5. Demonstrated ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment and with a range of stakeholders and
people from diverse cultures.
6. Demonstrated well-developed computer skills including word and excel spreadsheets.
1. Current NT Drivers Licence
Desirable
1. Knowledge of NT Government procurement guidelines and experience with corporate systems including for travel
bookings and invoice payments.
1. Knowledge of the Department's role within the business community.

There will be a requirement to participate in events which occur outside normal working hours. Participation in these events
will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
