About the role:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated a full-time Senior Planner/Planner – Environmental or Town Planning, with the opportunity to fill a mid-level and/or senior position. This role would deliver and contribute to a wide range of environmental assessment, environmental management, and urban / environmental planning projects. The role will play an integral part in providing practical, sustainable and effective advice and solutions to private sector and government clients.
About the role:
We are looking for a suitably qualified, experienced and motivated Town / Environmental Planner to join our team of professionals and to share in the success of the company on a full-time, permanent appointment.
We have an experienced and well-respected Environmental and Town Planning team, and we are looking to bolster our Environmental and Urban Planning capacity across GeoLINK.
We are happy to receive applications from candidates with a range of experience however we are ideally looking for a Planner with a minimum of 5yrs+ experience or an experienced Senior Planner (8yrs+ experience). The role would ideally be full-time (37.5hr week).
The role will involve working with a team of experienced environmental scientists, ecologists, planners and engineers in the management and delivery of a wide range of environmental assessment and urban / regional planning projects including the:
* Provision of accurate statutory planning and environmental advice for a variety of multi-disciplinary projects.
* Preparing and managing planning advice and environmental impact assessments such as review of environmental factors, statements of environmental effects, environmental impact statements and environmental management plans.
* Managing projects of varying sizes, including proposal preparation, budget monitoring, work planning and client liaison.
* Conducting site inspections and desktop assessments.
* Reviewing scientific results, specialist reports and interpreting planning and environmental legislation.
The successful candidate(s) will have the option of being based in any of our offices (Coffs Harbour, Lennox Head, or Armidale).

Applicants must address the following selection criteria in their application:
Essential criteria:
* Tertiary qualification in urban and regional planning, town planning, environmental planning, or related discipline, from an accredited institution.
* Minimum of 5-8 years relevant work experience. Consulting experience is desirable.
Please note we are also interested in candidates who have substantially more experience. The remuneration for this role is negotiable and will be commensurate with your experience.
* Strong understanding of the principles and practices of statutory planning, environmental assessment, and environmental management in NSW.
* Sound knowledge of relevant State and commonwealth legislation in theory and application.
* Strong understanding of project management practices and processes with demonstrated experience in managing and working within project scope.
* Experience in writing clear, concise, accurate reports on statutory planning and technical matters.
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams with various internal and external stakeholders.
* Ability to navigate computer systems and adept at office software including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
* High level of self-motivation, takes initiative, and demonstrated ability to manage projects and work autonomously.
* Thorough understanding of WH&S requirements and obligations.
Additional desirable criteria:
* Eligibility for membership of a relevant and accredited professional association (e.g. Planning Institute of Australia).
* Good track record of winning and retaining projects/clients.
