Job Description:
As a Laboratory Technician, you will work with the scientist on duty as part of our clinical laboratory team. You'll assist in performing specimen registration, receiving clinical calls, assisting with the processing of samples and maintenance of analysers which is essential in providing services to the hospital diagnostics.
You will participate in a 24-hour roster with on a shift rotation including nights.

Requirements:
* Certificate III Laboratory Techniques or other relevant qualification awarded by an Australian institution, or equivalent; OR relevant experience in a field of technical laboratory work closely related to the duties of this position.
* Proven communication skills and ability liaise with clinicians, and other professionals from diverse backgrounds.
* Demonstrated laboratory skills and ability to complete simple testing and other laboratory duties
* Strong keyboard skills with minimal errors

The Darwin laboratory provides supervision and support to the other five regional laboratories located at Alice Springs Hospital and the 'Hub' (Palmerston Regional Hospital, Katherine Hospital, Gove District Hospital and Tennant Creek Hospital).
