About The Role
Join our inclusive MPE function here at Rio Tinto, where your customer engagement skills and experience will be valued and enriched within the role of Planner. In this unique FIFO role, you will work as part of a collaborative team, where you will be responsible for creating and managing executable work orders aligned to the maintenance strategy.
Reporting to the Superintendent Planning, you will be responsible for
Review approved notifications, allocating initial priority for non urgent tasks & provide feedback to Originator on Status of the Notification (WFIN, RJCL)
Estimating labour requirements and equipment downtime
Detail planning of work orders and assign resource requirement for approved non-urgent work
Review maintenance history, damage, cause, functional failure to ensure accurate data capture and updates are provided by maintenance team where appropriate
Initiate Warranty and Repairable/Rotable Process on non-urgent corrective work with appropriate asset class internal SME
Review work in required schedule period taking into consideration (Asset criticality, statutory work, warranty, repairable / rotable, severity and safety impact) inclusive of project maintenance work.
Identify any potential scope conflict and repackage the activities, amending duration of required down-time when necessary
Arrange specialised external contractors / suppliers (for Planner-driven work) and commence CMS to engage
Participate in relevant Work Management Meetings to review and mature plan into executable schedule
Ensure work order or maintenance task lists are updated appropriately (either trigger with Specialist Planner, or RTTMS data central team.
Facilitate cost performance review meeting with cost centre owners
Escalate any major variance of actual vs plan and identify opportunities to realign spend vs budget
Provide input to Specialist Planner in alignment with quarterly budget planning & reforecasting process
What You'll Bring
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have
Experience in maintenance planning / scheduling in the mining industry – specifically fixed plant
CMMS Maintenance modules
Advanced computer skills
Intermediate / Advanced use of MS office (Excel /Project)
Mechanical aptitude
Current 'C' Class Driver's License (Manual)

Where you'll be working
This role is being offered FIFO from Perth to Hope Downs 4 on a 5 days on, 2 days off, 4 days on, 3 days off roster. (9 day fortnight)
Located 50km north-west of Newman, Hope Downs 4 is a joint venture managed and operated by Rio Tinto, working in conjunction with nearby site Hope Downs 1. Hope Downs 4 provides excellent career growth and opportunities and the village provides excellent facilities for its FIFO workers.
