Located in Perth Finance experience required Long term contract APS5 Finance Officer The APS5 Finance Officer will play a key role in supporting the financial operations of the organisation, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts, compliance with procurement policies, and effective stakeholder engagement.
This role suits someone with strong attention to detail, sound judgement, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities Facilitate the accounts payable function, ensuring all invoices and payments are processed accurately, on time, and in accordance with the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability (PGPA) Act and internal financial controls.
Support the end-to-end procurement process, including preparing and managing contracts, purchase orders, and service agreements Maintain accurate financial records and reporting, including reconciliations, financial documentation, and audit preparation.
Assist in the monitoring and reporting of budgets, expenditure, and financial forecasts to support informed decision-making.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to streamline financial and administrative processes.
Provide general administrative and reception support to the team, including handling enquiries and supporting internal stakeholders as required.
Build and maintain productive working relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and external partners to support the efficient delivery of financial and procurement services.
Undertake other finance or administrative duties as directed, consistent with the role's classification and responsibilities.
A Successful Candidate Will Have Proven experience in finance, accounts payable, or procurement within the APS or a similar complex environment.
Excellent attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in financial systems (e.g., SAP, TechOne, or similar ERP platforms) and strong Excel capability.
Well-developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to provide clear financial advice to non-financial stakeholders.
Strong organisational and time management abilities to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
A proactive and collaborative approach, with a willingness to support team objectives and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
