About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Industrial Officer/Industrial Relations Consultant (or similar background) to join a cooperative team within a peak Industry Association, supporting professionals and contractors in a specialised industry. This role will see you providing expert advice and advocacy on industrial relations and workplace matters, while building strong networks with stakeholders across the sector.
In this stand-alone role, you’ll play a key role in enterprise bargaining, representing members in tribunals, developing workplace resources, and keeping abreast of the latest industrial and employment law developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advice and support on industrial and workplace relations matters.
- Represent members in the Fair Work Commission and state-based tribunals.
- Support and facilitate enterprise agreement negotiations.
- Prepare submissions and monitor changes in IR and employment law.
- Assist members with WHS and workers’ compensation matters.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and workplace resources.
- Build and maintain relationships with employer and employee bodies.
About You
You are a strong communicator and problem-solver with excellent judgement and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. You’ll thrive in a role where no two days are the same and will bring:

- Strong problem-solving and time management ability.
- Sound judgement and a self-starting work ethic.
- Experience in industrial relations, employment law, or related fields.
- Advocacy and negotiation experience, ideally within a membership-based or not-for-profit organisation.
- Comfortable leading the function in a standalone role
