About the opportunity
The Head of Claims Platforms Modernisation will lead WorkSafe's modernisation of claims systems across Return to Work Victoria (RTWV). You will be accountable for delivering large‑scale digital transformation that will replace legacy technology with contemporary, fit‑for‑purpose platforms to improve outcomes for injured workers and employers, strengthen scheme sustainability, and support WorkSafe's strategic objectives.
As the Head of Claims Platforms Modernisation you will bring together people, process and technology to deliver end‑to‑end transformation—from design and build through to implementation, adoption and benefits realisation. You will be providing executive leadership across business delivery, technology delivery, governance and commercial arrangements, ensuring programs are well‑governed, strategically aligned and successfully embedded into operations.
Key Accountabilities
* Ensure technology delivery supports WorkSafe's strategy
Ensure claims system improvements are aligned with RTWV and broader WorkSafe strategy balancing short term delivery needs with longer‑term capability, sustainability and future system evolution.
* Manage complex stakeholder and vendor relationships and governance
Lead strategic stakeholder engagement and governance to ensure transparent decision‑making and coordinated delivery of claims, premium & self-insurance management technology‑driven reforms that strengthen scheme stability and future readiness. (Strategic Delivery, Technology and RTWV execs).
* Build capability to deliver and adopt digital change
Ensure claims system improvements are aligned with RTWV and broader WorkSafe strategy, balancing short term delivery needs with longer‑term capability, sustainability and future system evolution.
* Lead change, implementation and benefits realisation
Build and lead high‑performing, cross functional teams (including internal staff and delivery partners) to deliver digital transition and transformation and embed new ways of working. Identify capability gaps, use augmentation where required, and grow internal capability over time.

About you
To be successful in this role you will be a highly capable leader who brings deep experience at an executive level with a strong foundation in technology in a complex operating environment. You'll bring strong vendor management skills and experience managing large scale budgets while navigating and influencing senior stakeholders including board members and executive level leaders. You'll be a collaborative professional who builds strong relationships across leaders and teams, while also thriving as a sole subject matter expert, working autonomously and adding value from day one.
