As a Graduate, you'll work closely with experienced civil lawyers, supporting litigation and casework across this diverse practice. Once admitted, you'll also undertake supervised legal work, including providing advice and participating in urban and remote outreach clinics.
This role offers hands-on experience, real responsibility, and exposure to some of the most important civil justice issues in the Northern Territory.
What you'll be doing:
* Assist in the preparation of legal documents and correspondence
* Conduct research on legal issues and case law
* Support senior lawyers in case management and client interactions
* Attend court hearings and assist in the documentation process
* Maintain accurate records and files for ongoing cases
* Participate in team meetings and contribute to project discussions
About You
You will bring:
* Completion of, or enrolment in the final year of, a law degree
* Eligibility for admission as a legal practitioner within 12 months
* A demonstrated interest in civil law and social justice
* Strong research, writing, and organisational skills
* The ability to work independently and meet deadlines
* Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills
* Willingness to travel to and work in remote communities
* A current driver's licence
* Ability to obtain an Ochre Card and satisfactory criminal history check
