Chandler Macleod is currently seeking qualified welders and boilermakers with experience in metal fabrication, structural welding, or boiler maintenance to join the team at Baiada’s Country Road Hatchery in Tamworth. $45.11 per hour weekend penalties & allowances Monday to Friday, 8 hour shifts, rotating between 2:30 AM - 9 AM Opportunity for permanency following successful probation About the role As a Maintenance Employee, you will play a vital role in maintaining and repairing plant machinery to support smooth, safe, and efficient operations. Key responsibilities include: Performing repairs and preventative maintenance on plant equipment and machinery Ensuring all tasks are completed safely and in accordance with Baiada’s standards and systems Working closely with the Maintenance Manager, and other supervisors and leading hands Carrying out maintenance work in line with Baiada's operational and compliance requirements About You We are seeking a proactive, trade-qualified professional with a hands-on approach and strong teamwork ethic. To succeed in this role, you will have: A relevant trade qualification (e.g. Fitter and Turner, Boilermaker, Welder) along with experience working in a maintenance team within a manufacturing environment, preferably within the intensive food processing industry Strong decision-making skills, particularly under pressure Effective communication skills, both verbal and written The ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team A desire for long-term career development Full Australian working rights (citizenship or permanent residency) You’ll also bring a mechanical mindset, a commitment to safety, and the flexibility to work across rotating shifts—including weekends and public holidays.
