Overview

On 1 January 2026, Alfred Health will merge with Kooweerup Regional Health Service, Peninsula Health, Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health Service to create Bayside Health, a merged health service with more than 22,000 employees serving over 1.2 million Victorians. The merger will strengthen our workforce and create new training, education and career opportunities. Subject to final approval on 1 January 2026, all employees from the five health services will transfer to Bayside Health.

About Us

headspace Early Psychosis, established in 2011, is an accessible youth and family friendly mental health service for young people (12-25) dealing with hearing voices and unusual beliefs. It operates in five headspace centres across the Southern Metropolitan Region of Melbourne. Four regional Community Care Teams (CCTs) are based in Bentleigh, Frankston, Dandenong and Narre Warren. The service also includes a Mobile Assessment and Treatment Team (MATT) and a centre-based Recovery Program (RC) serving the Southern Metropolitan region.

About The Role

The CCT clinicians play an significant role in supporting the case management of young people with early psychosis. They work as part of a multidisciplinary team and contribute to the development of this service. The position requires experience in diagnosis and provision of assessment and intervention with young people with psychosis and alcohol and other drug issues and their families. The successful applicant will participate in service innovation, development and evaluation activities. This position reports to the team leader and consultant psychiatrist. Staff will be involved in discipline-specific and generalist work. Supervision of staff and students, professional development activities and research are required.

Responsibilities

- Support case management for young people with early psychosis as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Contribute to service development, innovation and evaluation activities.
- Collaborate with the wider Alfred ICYAMHWS and headspace service system to ensure coordinated transitions and integration of services across the system of care.
- Provide supervision and professional development activities as required.

About You

- Approved tertiary qualifications and eligibility for membership with relevant registering body (Nursing & Midwifery Board / Occupational Therapy Board / Psychology Board via AHPRA, or eligible with AASW)
- Post graduate qualifications (desired)
- Current Victorian Driver’s License and Working with Children Check
- Australian working rights
- Be willing to undergo a background check
- Current influenza vaccination
