About the role
Ventia is seeking multiple experienced Drivers within our Transport Services team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a vital support function in a dynamic Defence environment
Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to)
Safely drive Defence personnel to and from appointments locally and in Melbourne
Perform routine vehicle maintenance including cleaning inspections basic fault finding minor repairs and tyre / wheel changes
Conduct non-technical inspections on fleet vehicles to ensure operational readiness
Carry out mail duties including sorting distribution and delivery between bases
Complete basic paperwork and filing tasks related to transport operations
About you
1 years experience in a similar role
A valid Australian drivers license is essential
Experience in operating a range of vehicles possibly in a similar environment
Ability to perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on vehicles
Skilled in route planning and navigation including the use of GPS and maps
You take pride in delivering high-quality work safely and reliably. You follow established procedures actively look out for your teammates and understand that safety is a shared responsibility. You contribute to a culture where safety incidents near miss and hazards are reported promptly and constructively.
Must be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance. As a result of this requirement the applicant must be an Australian Citizen and be willing to undertake and maintain a satisfactory Australian Federal Police Check.
