About the role:
We’re looking for an Irrigation Manager to join our team. This is a hands-on role where you’ll take ownership of irrigation systems and crop water management, working closely with the Orchard Manager to optimise crop health, productivity and long-term sustainability.
In this role, you will:
* Champion a positive & productive ‘best-in-class’ WHS culture.
* Conduct regular inspections of the irrigation/drainage systems
* Effectively operate the complete Irrigation System including main lines, pumps, filters and fertigation system.
* Oversee and maintain a full working knowledge of the Irrigation Control System and Scheduling Systems.
* Monitor irrigation water quality and water supply levels (dams, channels) ensuring all infrastructure is secure, in good operational order and maintained within design parameters.
* Maintain and execute fertiliser programs.
* Maintain and monitor knowledge of all field operations including block pressures, flow rates, dripper outputs, including underground infrastructure and report any anomalies.
* Use historical information to evaluate and plan irrigation usage for the orchard as required.
* Plan and control inventory levels to ensure critical spare parts and required fertiliser are always on hand.
* Develop and maintain appropriate maintenance manuals for periodic checking and general servicing of all irrigation equipment.
* Promote and demonstrate behaviours that extend GO.FARM culture and vision.
* Establish and lead an efficient & effective consistent communication program with the Orchard Manager.
* Establish and facilitate efficient communication lines between staff, contractors and any other key parties.
* Any other miscellaneous duties as required
About you:

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:
* Sound understanding of irrigated horticultural cropping practices and irrigation requirements, systems, and associated software.
* Chemical handling accreditation and driver’s licence (preferred).
* A reasonable level of practical and mechanical skills as they relate to pump and irrigation system operations.
* Demonstrable computer literacy with ability to operate pump and irrigation programming systems.
* Excellent interpersonal skills allowing effective communication with all stakeholders.
* Demonstrable aptitude in decision-making and problem solving.
* Outstanding and highly developed organizational skills.
* An innate vigilance for setting and maintaining high standards.
* A preparedness to be a collaborative, results-orientated team member

In addition, this role is offering
* Base salary between $90,000 - $110,000 per annum
* Short Term Incentive (STI) of up to 10% of your salary
