We're leaders and innovators in transforming steel into smart products and solutions that support society, today and in the future. We're proud of brands, like COLORBOND steel that inspire and protect everything from hospitals to bridges and stadiums.
The Opportunity
Our Lysaght business is looking for a Maintenance Manager to join the Maintenance team based in Townsville, QLD. Made in Australia since 1921, Lysaght manufactures and markets steel building products that have helped shape the nation: from iconic corrugated roofing over Australian homes, to large commercial and industrial projects.
In this critical, hands-on role, you will ensure equipment performance is reliable and cost effective, strengthening our ability to safely achieve our manufacturing plan and strategies through your leadership of the maintenance team.
You'll have the opportunity to join us at a time when we are on the trajectory of growth when it comes to investing in new technologies. Your guidance and support will continue to enable the successful delivery of our maintenance priorities across safety and environment, people and leadership, customer satisfaction, maintenance strategy & planning, and manufacturing excellence.
You will be responsible for the maintenance of our regional sites within North Queensland and the Northern Territory (NQ/NT), and frequent travel throughout the region is an important part of this role.
What Will You Do?
Leading a small team, you will be the subject matter expert for equipment and maintenance. Your responsibilities will include:
* maintain and manage the assets to maximise availability and reliability and to meet statutory requirements in a cost-efficient manner
* address and resolve machine breakdowns promptly and efficiently with a heightened sense of urgency
* develop and execute whole of life asset plans and strategies for all equipment across the region
* ensure the well-planned and timely coordination of shutdowns for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance
* champion a safety culture of accountability by setting clear expectations, defining roles and responsibilities, and holding team members to high standards
More About You
You will bring leadership experience or capability as well as experience working within a maintenance function of a manufacturing or heavy industry environment. Your dedication to safety combined with an ability to lead, motivate and develop others will support your success in this role.
You will also have:
* Mechanical Trade qualifications
* good communication and influencing skills to deliver outcomes through others
* demonstrated understanding of manufacturing processes
* a proven ability to make decisions with consideration to business commercial interests
* a natural curiosity to keep learning about advancements in maintenance practices and technologies
