The focus of this position is to provide support and advice in all areas of human resources, industrial, learning and development, and workplace relations to the Organisation ensuring statutory compliance while also being flexible, responsive and providing high quality professional services.
This role also provides end to end recruitment and onboarding services to a range of business areas within Council.
Employment Status: Full time, permanent
Award: Level 4 of the Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream A) Award – State 2017
Salary Range: $90,418 to $95,198
ABOUT YOU
The successful candidate will have:
| Essential Knowledge, skills and abilities |
* Relevant experience in a generalist human resources role.
* Experience providing end to end recruitment services within established policy frameworks to meet desired outcomes and results.
* Demonstrated capability to interpret and apply industrial instruments and employment related legislation.
* Ability to gain credibility, partner with and build rapport with internal and external stakeholders.
* Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
* Exceptional time management and prioritisation skills with strong attention to detail and initiative.
* Well-developed computer skills and the ability to learn relevant business systems/processes.
| Essential Education/Qualifications |
* Tertiary qualification in Human Resources such as Certificate IV in Human Resources Management, Diploma of Human Resources or Bachelor of Business Management (majoring in human resources, industrial relations) or commensurate experience.
| Essential Licences |
Possession and maintenance of a Queensland 'C' Class Driver Licence.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/POSITION ENVIRONMENT
This position is primarily an indoor role and requires sufficient physical ability to work in an office setting, which involves prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and operating a computer and telephone. May be required to carry out light to moderate manual handling, bending, kneeling, twisting, squatting, lifting and carrying.
Out of hours work may be required.
